Stuckey aka Dr. Reuben A. Buford May (#rappingprofessor) is a dynamic and inspirational rapper, speaker, performer and professor from Chicago, Illinois.
He is the Florian Znaniecki Professorial Scholar, Professor of Sociology, and Department Head at the University of Illinois Urbana—Champaign. He was recently named a Fellow in the President’s Executive Leadership Program for the University of Illinois System. Formerly he was a Finalist for the Robert Foster Cherry Award for Great Teaching (a national teaching award honoring individuals who have a proven record for extraordinary teaching), the Presidential Professor for Teaching Excellence ("the most prestigious faculty honor") at Texas A&M University and a Minnie Stevens Piper Professor (for superior teaching at Texas higher education institutions). Stuckey is known around the world for his impromptu rap performances on street corners and has also performed live at venues including the Chicago House of Blues and Kyle Field.
